Well hello everyone and welcome to
2009!
It's been an interesting year at
Humming Lake....
(sorta Humming Woods now)
We've completed and started several
new new projects that I want to tell
you about in no particular order.
Duane D'Agnese, a singer/songwriter /instrumentalist
from Concord NH has been working with me. We have
finished two CDs "In Our Time" and a second "Off the Shelf"
that will be on the shelves soon! And believe it or not we've
already started a third! We've been doing basics and
tracking guitars up until now, but it's shaping up into another
fine effort.
I am in the middle of a project with Marc Bridge who
looks to be done this spring. He is a a talent I first heard at
the Sit'n Bull open mic, who writes and performs his own
varied material, from funny to serious and clever as well..
Also, Perry Desmond-Davies is back at work! (Yeah!),
and more to come!!!
Richard Eilbert has finished tracking and we've begun
the mixing process.
Chris Pahud is done and in the duplication stage of his
project "Red Sky In Morning" . Lots of great contributions on
this one from all over. You can catch up with Chris even more
here and listen to tracks of his CD!
Mark Dix is in the middle of his new solo CD of original
material. It's amazing how many great songs can come out of
one man...but he's living proof! Again varying from funny to
serious and some spirit driven songs that will surprise fans
of his first CD. Mark is in a band named Whose Muddy
Shoes who finished Mastering with Dana White at
Specialized Mastering in Framingham.... Boy their new CD
sounds GREAT!!! Look for local CD release performanes for
this wonderful group consisting of Mark, Jack Esher, Bill
Mantone and Robin Winter. Great harmonies,
instrumentation, writing and old friend banter abound!
Gerry Ryan has been back in to record some more basic
tracks for his second project with me, another fine mix of his
original music. If it's anything like his last CD I know people
who've heard him will be looking forward to this one as well.
Laura Gold has been putting the finishing touches on her
new CD, again a mix of her and her brother Daniel Gold's
songs. We're closing in on the last tracks soon, another spring
realease I'm looking forward to.
Kim Jennings has done several nights of tracking on her
project, spreading her talents around on guitar and piano,
songs I'm sure many have heard around the folk scene.
I recently put some tracks on an old friend of mine's CD.
I played with Joe Barbieri in Wood-n-Steel back in the 70's
and 80's all around New England. A great singer, people
finally convinced him to do his own CD and it's coming to
fruition.
Many people have heard the Folk Tradition CD with
John Fitzsimmons, Hatrack Gallagher and me. I am proud to
say we are working on our second one and hope to have it
done by early summer.
Jared Fiske and Amy Herrera were in putting the drums
on their new CD which Jared will be finishing in his new
space. The reason I mention this is even more important.
They recently had a baby boy and I wanted an
announcement on my page. Congratulations! Enjoy every
moment!
I had the pleasure of playing on stage with many of my
studio musicians at a CD release concert for Steve Gretz and
Leslie Lee's new CD
'Better Off Someday'. It was a great night! Don Croad on
drums, Peter Tillotson on bass, Hatrack Gallagher on
harmonica, and Matt Leavenworth on violin and electric
guitar all made a great band. Even though we only rehearsed
at sound check, it was pure magic. See some great pictures
from the night here!
As always I am performing out as a solo and in various
combinations with musical friends. Watch my calendar page
for gigs as they pour in! I expect great things this year on all
fronts. So, keep in touch and may the force be with us, each
and everyone one of us!
Look for CD release announcements here!
Be well!
Blessing and Peace, Seth
